Working together to maximise environmental, social and cultural outcomes for wetlands.

A lack of understanding on the important role that wetlands play, coupled with a lack of knowledge on how to manage and restore wetlands, has resulted in an immense decline in wetlands. And in turn, the birds, fish, animals and plants that rely on them have suffered, as well as the cultural value and amenity. The Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group have been successfully working to restore wetlands across the Murray Darling Basin by linking community, science and government for 30 years.
