NAIDOC Week is annual celebration of indigenous culture and identity.
This year it’s from 3-10 July. At Winton Wetlands we’ll be marking the occasion with a special morning tea on
Friday 8 July, from 10am-11.30am.
Our Koorie cultural officer, Nikki James, will attend along with an elder of the Yorta Yorta Nation, offering some friendly and informal talk about NAIDOC Week and the rich indigenous history and heritage of the Wetlands.
Afterwards, for those interested, there will be an opportunity to view and hear more about some of the outdoor artworks by Yorta Yorta artists on display nearby, as part of Lotjpatj Natjan Danak, the new Sculpture Walk at Winton Wetlands.
