Lance will present an overview of the 9 criteria that require evaluation to assess their fulfillment for Ramsar listing, using the Winton Wetlands as a case study. The combined outcomes of the met criteria contribute to delineating the ecological character of a wetland.

Lance Lloyd has over 30 years of practical experience in ecology, and management across SE Australia and the Pacific Islands. His expertise lies in native fish ecology, water management, and restoration science. Lance has made a significant contribution to the ecological renewal program and restoration efforts at the Winton Wetlands, a project of national significance encompassing 8,750 hectares, since 2013 (and has an association with the site extending back to 1991). Lance leads the fish and aquatic ecological science and environmental water management aspects of the Winton Wetlands project.
