Fishy things going on at the Wetlands

There are some fishy things going on at Winton Wetlands this month. In particular, surveying of the fish population. Amongst other things, next week we’re checking on how some small native fish recently re-introduced to the wetlands are faring. Purple spotted gudgeon and southern pygmy perch, to be precise. If the little critters are doing well, it will be a sign that they’re doing their job helping to restore a more balanced and healthy eco-system in the ponds where they’ve been released. Here’s hoping…
