Be part of this fantastic opportunity to enhance the natural vegetation available at the Wetlands with planting, water testing, water bug collections and freshwater mussel surveys.

Wetland plants provide vital shelter, breeding and foraging habitat for a wide variety of local fauna. Plants also contribute to increasing water quality and an overall increase in the health of the wetland system. Please join us as we work to enhance the natural vegetation available at the Wetlands.

What we’ll be doing

Activities will include:

  • Planting native wetland plants
  • Water quality testing
  • Water bug collections and identification
  • Freshwater mussel surveys

Where to meet

Meet at the Dam Wall Campground, southern end of Dam Wall, Winton Wetlands. (See our map) We will also have signs up to guide you on the day.

What to bring

Please bring your own water bottle, gardening gloves and trowels/spades, gum boots and waders.
